#SaferSAR - SAR Unit Safety Reporting The IMRF #SaferSAR initiative consists of a 12-month feasibility study for a globally accessible platform that SAR personnel and organisations can use to share lessons and best practices identified in SAR response, incidents, accidents, and exercises. Below you can report any safety related observations that you encounter on a SAR unit. The reporting system is currently in a pilot phase but it is fully functional. The system is running on CHIRP platform, and once the data have been disidentified, the results are shared with the IMRF for analysis and communication. The programme is confidential and never reveals the identity of its reporters. The primary goal of collecting this information is to improve maritime safety by leveraging the collective experiences of SAR units worldwide. We invite SAR professionals to submit detailed reports on incidents and accidents they encounter on their own units. This data will be invaluable in identifying trends, patterns, and potential safety concerns, allowing us to develop more effective and safer SAR operations. By participating in this initiative, you will not only contribute to a safer maritime environment but also help support organisations that may lack the resources to collect and analyse such critical information themselves. Join us in this vital effort to save more lives at sea by sharing your experiences and insights through the #SaferSAR platform.
