IMRF welcomes Steve Wills to the team The IMRF is delighted to welcome Steve Wills. Steve brings a wealth of expertise in global drowning prevention and search and rescue, having spearheaded groundbreaking efforts at the RNLI to address the devastating toll of 300,000 lives lost to drowning annually, particularly in lower- and middle-income countries. Steve was also a volunteer with the RNLI’s flood rescue team for over 10 years. During his time at the RNLI, Steve played an instrumental role in transforming it into a globally recognised lifesaving organisation. Collaborating with international partners such as the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and various governments, he championed enduring policy changes and secured government funding for drowning prevention programmes. His extensive knowledge in disaster risk reduction, public health, lifesaving interventions and community resilience will be a tremendous asset. Steve’s extensive experience and leadership will complement the IMRF’s next phase of growth, strengthening its aim to improve search and rescue operations worldwide. Manage Cookie Preferences
