The IMRF is launching a global survey to collect examples and experiences of the impact of climate change on SAR operations and identify ways to strengthen climate resilience. This initiative is part of the second phase of the #FutureSAR project, “Harnessing the Tides of Change”, from December 2024 to November 2025, aiming to ensure SAR operations remain effective and safe in extreme weather conditions.

The survey will provide critical insights into how SAR organisations worldwide – both climate-ready and less prepared – are adapting to rising sea levels, extreme storms, unpredictable currents, and new operational risks.
