Our members from international search and rescue organisations across the globe are continuing to save lives in the world’s waters.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic presents very serious challenges to search and rescue crews, as they care for those they rescue and protect their own well-being.

To address this, we have launched a COVID-19 Networking Group for our members to share questions and experiences on responding to COVID-19, and we are drafting guidelines on search and rescue best practices during pandemics and other comparable situations.

The main priority for all SAR organisations is to continue to provide effective SAR and lifesaving services, while minimising the risk of infection for staff and volunteers.
