The IMRF’s Asia-Pacific Regional Centre (APRC), a registered NGO based in Shanghai, China. This was established to further develop maritime SAR resources and capability specifically across the Asia-Pacific region. It celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021.

The APRC is currently hosted by China Rescue & Salvage (CRS), who is a full member of the IMRF and works to achieve the IMRF's aim of developing SAR capability globally.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic reduced some international activities, the APRC has recently worked to promote the IMRF’s #WomenInSAR initiative in China’s Maritime SAR infrastructure, raise public awareness of women’s role in maritime SAR and the career paths available.
